The original house was built in 1902, remodeled in 1916 and then moved to its current site in 1942, making way for the Renton Savings and Loan. When the original owners' son, Charles Custer, passed away in 2001, he left a large part of his estate, including the house, to the Renton Historical Society. Rick and I were able to purchase it from them in 2002. Their March 2008 newsletter has a great article about the family and the house. Below is a link that will get you to the article. Enjoy it!
